In the boxing ring Farah Khan

Farah Khan, ace choreographer, arguably one of the finest directors in Bollywood, is a star in her own terms. The lady who has just given birth to triplets has stepped out of her home into the world to which she really belongs. Farah Khan, ace choreographer, arguably one of the finest directors in Bollywood, is a star in her own terms. The lady who has just given birth to triplets has stepped out of her home into the world to which she really belongs. Farah is all set to judge Star Plus’ reality show Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar along with music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar. Farah proclaims her love for the drama that happens on reality shows and feels that it is the drama that attracts viewers to the show. The firebrand director talks about everything from motherhood, multi-tasking, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar to her upcoming film. Excerpts from an interview to Neha Maheshwri. Why Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar? It is basically the format of the show that attracted me to do this show. First of all, unlike all other reality shows here the judges will be vested with 50% of voting rights. This aspect of the show will help us have the most deserving winner without any question or contradictions. There will be regionalism and favouritism cut to its half. Will it be the usual firebrand Farah? Yes, I will be forthright as ever. I will treat them as new and I will judge on their day’s performance. If it is a good day compliments will come their way and if it is bad day they will have to bear the brunt. Every episode will be like a boxing match. What is the USP of the show? The USP of the show is that we have the cr?me de la cr?me of singers on the show so we are relieved from the process of selecting top 10 or 12 singers. Also there have been unending debates on the results so here the contestants, who thought they could win the reality shows but couldn’t, will get another chance. One non-interesting thing about the show is that there are no bad singers. All of them are semi-finalists or top two from different reality shows. Who would I comment on if there are no bad singers? What do you think of the fate of these singers when there are just few voices that rule the industry? Forget about these twenty singers, the music-industry is big enough to accept 100 more singers. What is needed from these singers is persistence and a constant body of good work. What do you watch on television? I watch all the shows that have drama in them like Roadies, Jhalak Dikhla Ja, Jjhoom India and Nach Baliye. I will try finding a way to add that element on Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar but I will not fake it by fighting with co-judges just for the heck of it. How will you balance between the show and family? This show requires just a day’s shoot. If it required more than a day then I would not have taken it up. What do you have to say about multi-tasking? Men are never going to understand this. I know my maid who was back to work two days after delivering a baby, so I can’t complain. I have the luxury of keeping three maids and staff that helps me in my work when I am not around. Not everyone is as lucky. What is your experience of motherhood? I would say its fun thing for me. I have a great time with my kids. When are you getting back to direction? I hope to make a movie by next year most probably it is my project Happy New Year. Will these singers be given a chance to sing in your movie? If they fit the bill then why not but for that let me make my movie first. Don’t you think reality shows are now done to death? See they will be on till audiences are watching them. Once the viewership drops producers will stop making them.
