MUMBAI: Sania Mirza is one of the most popular tennis players. In her latest social media post, the diva got candid about the things that a girl gets to hear if she decides to play a sport.
Pursuing a sports career is not an easy task. Though there are people who get complete support from their family, there are some who face innumerable hurdles in their sporting careers. In fact, some end up putting a full stop to their sports dreams due to many societal factors.
The ace sports star Sania Mirza, who is a Six Grand Slam title winner, shot for an engaging video in a fun way and spoke about the questions that a girl faces if she decides to play a sport.

The video begins with the sentence ‘Things you grow up hearing as a girl who decides to play a sport’ and then it is followed by points such as ‘Playing in the sun is for boys, you have to learn how to cook’; ‘If you become so dark, who will marry you’; ‘How will you go for tournaments when you have to run a family’; and ‘Your sporting career ends as soon as you become a mother’.
Many of the netizens agreed to Sania Mirza’s video and they made comments such as ‘nice video saniya madam’, ‘Very true’, ‘Fantabulous’, ‘Soooo trueee’. Another social media user went on to praise her by writing, “We are all proud of you and your achievements ..... you are a fighter It makes the accomplishments matter more with the challenges and demotivation you faced yet overcame victorious.”
