And today, the actor seems to be puzzled and shocked at the new development that sees him out of the show!!
Yes, you heard it right!! The role of Sunny Sharma will now be played by Dhiraj Totlani, instead of Harshith.
So why did the replacement happen, that too after Harshith had shot for a day?
Our source states, “Harshith shot for his introductory scene wherein initially his close-up with only his ears and mouth being on focus was to be shown. Later, the viewers were to see his back, followed by his dramatic entry that would lead to him having a conversation at the canteen.”
Yesterday’s telecast did have the scene where Harshith’s close-up was shown, without revealing much about who the man is. However, the next scene which had his entry was chopped off and was not telecast.
News coming in is that the maker and channel wanted a guy with a Haryanvi accent to play the role. So they went ahead in dumping the already shot scene with Harshith and taking a new guy in.
When contacted, a disappointed Harshith told us, “Yes, it is true that I have been replaced. When I was chosen for the role, the brief given to me did not have the requirement of the character having a strong Haryanvi accent. Hence I was selected, and I had made it clear to them that I am not from Haryana. But when I did not see my entry sequence in the episode yesterday, I decided to call them to find out what went wrong. That was when I was told that there could be some new developments as they needed a guy with Haryanvi accent. Yes this is upsetting, as the word had spread. And I was so keen and happy to enter the show Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan. But you cannot help all this, and I take it as it comes.”
As for the man coming in, Dhiraj, he was recently seen in Channel V’s Friends – Conditions Apply and Life OK’s Mere Rang Main Rangne Wali. He has also shot for an episodic of Code Red on Colors.
When contacted, Dhiraj confirmed his entry in the show.
Guess this is what ‘destiny’ is!!
