MUMBAI: In a dramatic turn of events that has captivated fans of Indian reality television, social media star Anjali Arora has once again made headlines but this time, it's not for a project or performance, but for a personal revelation that has reignited her long-standing rift with fellow reality TV star Munawar Faruqui.
Anjali, who rose to prominence following her appearance on the first season of Lock Upp, has long been a familiar face across digital platforms.
With a slew of viral music videos and content to her name, she quickly carved out a space in the influencer sphere. However, in recent months, the actress has taken a noticeable step back from the limelight, sparking speculation about her next move.
Amidst the curiosity, the spotlight turned sharply back to her when Munawar Faruqui the winner of Lock Upp Season 1 and later, Bigg Boss Season 16 took to social media to issue a pointed response to Anjali’s comments made during a recent podcast appearance with Elvish Yadav.
In the podcast, Anjali claimed she hadn’t blocked Munawar on social media, prompting backlash and accusations of dishonesty. Munawar was quick to counter her statement, confirming that he too had blocked Anjali and went so far as to declare that she “doesn’t exist” for him anymore.
The exchange has stirred up considerable online chatter, especially considering the pair’s previous camaraderie during Lock Upp. Munawar’s fans, who admire his candid nature and grounded persona, have rallied behind him.
Following his back-to-back reality TV wins and a combined cash prize of ₹70 lakhs plus a new car, the comedian has earned widespread popularity though he too has maintained a relatively quiet public profile of late. Notably, there’s strong speculation that he may be gearing up for a return to television via Khatron Ke Khiladi’s upcoming season.
As the online discourse escalated, Anjali finally addressed the controversy in a newly released video, offering her side of the story. Visibly frustrated by the backlash, she stated firmly,
“I don’t care what anyone thinks of me. These threats people are sending are useless I know you all won’t do anything. What I said on the podcast was the truth, and Elvish himself saw it. I don’t need to prove anything, but even so, here’s the screenshot with the date and time.”
Her blunt response appears to be an effort to put the matter to rest, but the internet seems far from ready to move on. With both parties standing their ground and fans fiercely divided, it’s clear that this feud is far from over.
As for what lies ahead, neither Anjali nor Munawar has confirmed any new professional ventures, but with tensions running high and public interest peaking, it’s likely we haven’t seen the last chapter in this saga.
