MUMBAI: Each and every passing day of 2020 is like a disappointment.

The entertainment industry mourned the loss of some of the best in this business and the finest of actors. If Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor’s death wasn’t enough, recently, there were headlines of how a celebrity manager committed suicide by jumping off her building. And now, the actor she used to handle also committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling thereby shocking the entire fraternity. We are talking about Sushant Singh Rajput.

His suicide flipped open a can of worms. Nepotism, dirty politics to survive in this industry and how newcomers are looked down upon among many more things. Some celebrities have come forth to even narrate their experiences of surviving in the industry among the biggies.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise is sad. But was this step justified?

Ami Vaidya, an entrepreneur shared, “It is definitely saddening and shocking to hear about Sushan’t demise. But as an actor, you need to be headstrong. There are going to be many challenges and it is a tough road. He was doing well and this step wasn’t necessary if it was about his career. He had a long way to go.”

Pratik Waghmare, a singer said, “There are happy moments and difficult moments. You don’t give up when you face difficult times. You learn from them. What he had achieved until now was no easy feat. He had enough work to survive and a roof to live. To top it all his fans acknowledged his work and loved him. This step should not have been taken and that is what adds more grief.”

Amay Jadhav expressed, “Nepotism and this struggle is what every aspirant faces. Depression may be the reason and it is easy to say until it happens to you. I feel deeply for Sushant.”
