Devoleena Bhattacharjee is happy and glad on winning the award for the Best Actress in a Lead Role at the 14th Indian Telly Awards held recently.

Says Devoleena, “I am pretty excited as I hold the trophy in my hand. There’s nothing like getting appreciated through an award for your performance. For every actor, an award is something really special.”

The talented artiste as we know, has been entertaining one and all as Gopi in Star Plus’ popular show, Saath Nibhana Saathiya. She’s now been playing the role for over four years, in the show that has been on air for more than six years.

Ask her whether she now finds it a tad bit monotonous to play the character, and a confidently sounding Devoleena says, “Never. In fact, I will say that Gopi has seen a lot of growth in her character in the last few years. From the time I joined the show four years back and settled into it, I have seen various changes and new phases in her journey for Gopi. And I must say that I have enjoyed every bit of it.”

Being away from home, the sets of Saathiya has become her second home, and her cast and crew, second family for Devoleena. “It’s been a joyous journey so far, and I am overwhelmed with the love and warmth that I get on the sets. Also, my fans make sure that I keep happy always by showering all the appreciation. This award will now keep me on the run to gain excellence for a long time.”
