MUMBAI: TellyChakkar has been at the forefront of reporting exclusively from the world of television.

We were the first to break the news about Hotstar bringing a prequel to hit show Anupamaa. The show has been constantly bagging the number 1 position, thanks to the team who works hard in front and behind the camera to bring out the best for viewers.

As reported by us, it will be an 11-episodes series that will revolve around Anupamaa and Vanraj’s married life. The story begins from when they have completed 10 years of their wedding. Viewers will get a glimpse of Shah family’s earlier days and how Vanraj treats Anupamaa like a mere doormat.

Apart from Anupamaa (Rupali Ganguly) and Vanraj (Sudhanshu Pandey), other characters like Baa (Alpana Buch), Bapuji (Arvind Vaidya), Toshu (Ashish Mehrotra), Samar (Paras Kalnawat), and Dolly (Ekta Sariya) will be a part of the series.

TellyChakkar has learnt that the prequel will have a new character.

According to our sources, the makers are introducing Vanraj’s grandmother, Badi Baa, in the series. The role of Badi Baa will be reprised by veteran actor Sarita Joshi.

The actress needs no introduction. She has been a part of the entertainment industry for more than three decades. She has witnessed the television industry evolving over the years.

Well, the show already stars a stellar cast, and with Sarita ji coming on board, it will be a delight to watch the prequel.

According to our sources, the shooting for the prequel has already begun. However, there is no information about the launch date.
