Channel V’s new thriller show, Friends – Conditions Apply launches today (8 December) at the 5.30 PM slot, from Monday to Wednesday. Produced by Kabir Sadanand, under the banner Frog Unlimited, the show is set to catch the eye of viewers for its element of thrill and freshness in the storyline, and also for its high production value. The show’s initial episodes have been shot exclusively in Manali, in trying and testing weather conditions. The show deals with the story of Shakti (Shivani Tomar) who would do something very radical to achieve whatever she wants, to the extent of getting her friends kidnapped to help the release of her foster father. The show does not have a set erected in Mumbai, and this makes the show really unique. The first 12-14 episodes have been shot in Manali, post which the team will shoot at various outdoor locations, and not at a pre-conceived set.” Coming to the record of sorts that the show has already managed to create – The ongoing promo of the show has been the most viewed one before the launch of a new show on Channel V. A source gives us information, “Friends – Conditions Apply has created a record of sorts. Last seen, the promo was touching an eight lakh mark on Youtube and the entire team associated with the show is super thrilled.” Talking about the show, Lavanya Anand, Content Head, Channel V said, “We are excited about the show because our take-off point is that everyone changes in face of adversity. She will be beautiful, studying in a prestigious college, rubbing shoulders with the society elite, who would happen to be her friends. She will seem calm, collected and above all well presented. No one will know anything about her past as she will be very careful never to bring it up. In fact she will have several things hidden inside the closet. The deep dark secret will be that her parents would have been killed in front of her when she was 13. Baba would have been the man to give her affection and education. The man being her only family will mean a lot to her. With a situation erupting wherein she will would be on the verge of losing him too, Shakti will take the extreme step of kidnapping her friends for it.
