One of the biggest challenges of married life is to get along with in-laws. Though this goes for both partners, it is the woman who is affected the most. Getting married and entering this all-new phase in life brings in a whirlpool of feelings and truck full of new relationships. It takes time to adjust to these new and sometimes daunting changes. And once the euphoria of the wedding has passed, the young bride must have an answer to this difficult and complicated question - How to be a good daughter in law?

Savita did not like Tulsi and was not happy with her son's choice. A major twist in the story came when Mihir died in a road accident.

Gopi and Kokila from Star Plus’ Saath Nibhana Saathiya

Kokila decided Gopi was the right life partner for Ahem and right bahu for her. Therefore she emotionally blackmailed Ahem into marrying Gopi. When Ahem wanted to leave the house to get away from Gopi, Kokila told Gopi to take back her wedding vows and hide her face from Ahem until Kinjal's wedding, where after Gopi would leave the house. Kokila was strict and a disciplinarian. She played the role of a matriarch and knew that Gopi was a good girl. She supported her when she was right and even shouted at her when she went wrong.

Sonakshi and Ishwari from Sony TV’s Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi

[[{"type":"media","fid":"15161729","view_mode":"default","instance_fields":"override","attributes":{"height":450,"width":608},"field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}]]

Ishwari was an over possessive mother-in-law and this relationship was the most relatable to the audience as Sonakshi tried to give her space with her son until she started taking over her space as well. Be it cooking or adapting to a changed way of life, Sonakshi tried her best to fit in but Ishwari never understood and accepted Sonakshi for her perspective and way of living.
