MUMBAI: In a major turning point for Indian television fans, Sony TV officially confirmed the departure of veteran actor Shivaji Satam from his legendary role as ACP Pradyuman in the iconic crime series CID.
This announcement truly signals the end of an era, as Satam’s powerful performance has been a defining element of the show’s legacy for over two decades.
For more than twenty years, CID has remained a cornerstone of Indian television, enthralling viewers with its gripping investigations and memorable characters.
At the heart of the show’s remarkable longevity was the authoritative and compelling presence of ACP Pradyuman, a role brought to life with unmatched finesse by the ever-revered Shivaji Satam.
In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar, Dayanand Shetty, fondly known as Daya, opened up about Shivaji Satam’s unexpected exit from the beloved show CID.
Reflecting on the development, Shetty shared, “It was a creative decision taken by the channel and the production team. The news came as quite a shock to all of us. At the moment, he’s not filming with us, and we genuinely feel his absence on set. Since the decision was made by makers we’re not entirely sure of the reasons behind it, so it’s difficult for us to comment. But we sincerely hope he makes a return and the entire cast and crew truly miss him.”
There’s no denying that fans will find it incredibly hard to imagine the show without him.
His presence was pivotal, especially the iconic trio of Daya, Abhijeet, and ACP Pradyuman — a dynamic that has long been the heart and soul of CID.
The absence of Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman leaves behind a void that will be near impossible to fill.
