However, the plan had to be put on hold because of the pandemic, as Melis had to stay back in the US and could not return to India. The actor had first met Melis, who runs an IT company in 2016, during a US tour. The two fell in love and were in a live-in relationship with Melis shuttling between the two countries. Vipul has been part of many TV shows like FIR, Sahib Biwi Aur Boss, Dr Madhumati on Duty and Partners Trouble Ho Gayi Double.

Bombay Times had reported about Vipul Roy’s plans of tying the knot with his US-based fiancée Melis Atici on February 13 this year. However, the couple advanced their big day and exchange nuptial vows on December 27. They ring in the New Year as man and wife. The wedding was held at Iskcon Temple, Juhu, and was attended by the couple’s families and Vipul’s industry friends. Among those who were present were Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya, Ravi Dubey, Rajiv Adatia, Kiku Sharda, Vahbiz Dorabjee and Rohit Verma.

Informs an eyewitness, “It was an intimate gathering with families and close friends in attendance. The guests were advised to keep their phones away and not post any pictures of Vipul and Melis. It has been a fiercely-guarded secret. Vipul and Melis had planned a destination wedding and were in the process of finalising everything. Given the scenario at the moment, we doubt that will happen.”
