MUMBAI: Last month, Vivah actress Amrita Rao surprised her fans by announcing her pregnancy. The actress and her husband managed to keep the news under wraps for quite some.

Yesterday, Amrita delivered a baby boy. Both mother and the baby are doing fine. (Read here: Amrita Rao confirms pregnancy, flaunts baby bump in new post)

TellyChakkar.com got in touch with Amrita’s sister Preetika Rao of Beinteha and Love Ka Hai Intezar fame to know about her emotions on welcoming a new member to the family.

An excited Preetika shared, “I was very anxious for Amrita all throughout her pregnancy because of corona times. In fact, not even two days after the news was shared with me (on a video call by Amrita and Anmol) the lockdown was announced so I couldn't meet her for the first three-four months. We hardly met during her pregnancy to keep her safe but luckily in the last two months she did come home to stay for a couple of days and we also managed to have a private baby-shower ceremony at her home which was a lot of fun.”

She further added, “Mom strictly didn't allow me to take up any outdoor Ad shoots, events, and music video offers during her pregnancy phase, especially in the last two months... so that I don't expose both of them to any risk. And certainly, for me, my sister’s and mom's safety was my first priority.  I was thrilled to be a Masi and just couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Amrita's baby! It was like a dream!”
