MUMBAI :  One of the most unusual success stories in Indian television has been Shark Tank India. Shark Tank India is a business reality television program that is shown on Sony Entertainment Television in India. The program is an Indian franchise from the United States. It depicts business owners giving pitches to a group of sharks or investors, who determine whether to fund their enterprise or not.

The concept is such that a group of potential investors known as "Sharks" are featured on the show and listen to entrepreneurs pitch their ideas for new ventures or products. These self-made millionaires make decisions about whether to invest their own funds to coach and market each competitor after evaluating the business ideas and products provided. The host of the first season was Rannvijay Singha.

The Sharks of season 1 included Ashneer Grover, Ghazal Alagh, Vineeta Singh, Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta.

Sony TV is scheduled to air the second season of Shark Tank India soon.

As per sources, there is a chance that Ashneer Grover might not be a constant Shark on the show. He won’t be there the way he was in the first season. There are speculations that he might come on and off, on the show.

Indian businessman Ashneer Grover is the former co-founder and managing director (MD) of the Indian fintech company BharatPe which he co-founded along with Shashvat Nakrani and Bhavik Koladiya in 2018. Ashneer Grover and his quotes have been made into memes and are still pretty popular. Now, Ashneer has quit BharatPe.
