MUMBAI: Dolphin Dubey has come a long way in her career.
She has worked in a lot of shows and while she was recently a part of Apna Time Bhi Ayega on Zee TV, she is now a part of Sasural Simar Ka 2 on Colors.
In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Dolphin opened up on her personal life and how she has grown to be a fine actress. Take a look:
Dolphin shared, “If I speak of my acting career, I started at the age of 5 , and my parents were connected to music, and I was into singing and dancing and and there was no interest in acting, and I went to see a shoot and Aloknath’s Ji shoot and my mother said that I was called for audition without script and that’s how it began and slowly at the age of 10 I did a commercial for an oil brand and then my mom said to concentrate on studying and that time there was a big gap.
I used to go with my dad on shows and he was a star of his generation and meanwhile I used to play 12 instruments in my dad’s show, acting was like a book kept in the corner and then there was no topic of acting my mom was from jain family and my dad was from muslim family so he said this won’t work and I started to learn music and my mom wanted me to learn Kathak so I did that too, when I started dancing in Bollywood I got a film offer and I was 14 years old and I said I don’t think I could do it because there was a gap but he insisted on taking the offer and spoke to my parents and then again I started working and I got more films and that’s where I met my husband when I was 18 years old, I was doing a Bhojpuri film and that was first film that was for 14 weeks and for me it was very big and I got name from that and people started recognising me and I was the only girl that did 4-5 films in a year and I got a baby after that and then I thought of dropping the Bhojpuri industry and started television in Bhojpuri television and I did Saavdhan India and I knew nothing other than Balaji telefilms..
I got to know there are more and I was the only girl who did 14 stories.
Somewhere I quit Apna Time Bhi Aayega because my character had no scope of performance and I am glad I got a performance oriented role in Sasural Simar Ka 2."
"I always write singer- actor in my profession because it is connected with my parents and I polished my skills in lockdown and by god’s grace I got a chance to show that in a character and even people are loving it, and I think it’s all because of my parents who made me learn all those singing and dancing which helped me in my acting,"she added.
