MUMBAI: Pratham Kunwar is a prominent actor who has been in some really great shows. 

Pratham Kunwar is known for his performance as a negative character in Guddan – Tumse Na Ho Payega. He was later seen as a positive character in Humkadam.

The actor played a grey role in Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet. He is currently seen as Rocky in the show Udti Ka Naam Rajjo.

The show is about Rajjo, an athletically-gifted girl from a village, who encounters Arjun, a rich but angry man, who saves her life during a rough patch. However, they have to deal with societal boundaries to be together.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor and spoke about his journey, his character Rocky, and his birthday plans.

We saw that you celebrated your birthday on sets, how was it, and what are your other plans?

It was really lovely, I didn't expect anything like that to happen. All thanks to the makers of Rajjo and the cast and crew, for arranging the cake, the little celebration that we had, and for making this birthday so special. My whole face was covered in cake. I like to work on birthdays, and I am very fortunate that I was actually, because I believe it helps you grow. It was great fun, I got an early pack up and the whole day on set was just lovely.

How has your experience been shooting the show Rajjo till now? 

I think it's been 2 and half months till now and it has been great. The cast and crew have been really supportive and open towards me. I joined in after the show had already begun and usually it happens that you feel uncomfortable if other equations and circles are already formed before as they have been working together longer. The ice-breaking must have already happened. Luckily, I had a close friend, Sagar Thakur, who was shooting the show from the beginning and he introduced me to everyone. I too, gelled up with people and everyone has been really warm and loving towards me. 

How do you prepare for a role like Rocky? What goes in your mind before you do a scene?

There is nothing specific that I do to prepare for this role. It is challenging for sure because it is not that common that you have a love angle with your own Bhabhi because these are family-oriented shows. These characters are very interesting to play because I am always aware when my character is doing something wrong, but I want to make sure that people have fun while watching him and don’t curse him out. Whatever Rocky is doing, I try to play him as naturally as I can, taking him to a more gray area so that the audience also enjoys watching him on-screen and doesn’t just hate him for what he is doing. 

Pratham is currently playing the role of Rocky in the show ‘Udti Ka Naam Rajjo’. He made his debut with the show ‘Siya Ke Ram’.
