MUMBAI: Zee TV has been a trend-setter in shaping television content over the past three decades.

After introducing audiences to several relatable characters who have emerged as the country's most sought-after dinner-table companions and having touched upon a range of subjects close to the hearts of Indian audiences, the channel is all set to introduce two inspiring narratives that are bound to make viewers look at life from a fresh perspective.

Produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions, Meet is all set to raise pertinent questions about the roles set aside for the sexes in every Indian household and build a strong case against gender discrimination.

You have worked on unconventional projects like Piya Rangrezz Kyun Utthe Dil Chod Aaye and now you’re working with Meet. Is it a conscious decision to take up such projects?

I always think that whatever I am doing I don’t repeat it. I should always do something different. So I tried doing something different which is very hard in TV. So what happens in television is once you are typecast, they always call you for that only. So I always say no to the same characters. And I always do challenging roles. I have always done negative but in negative I have done different shades. Plus comedy and negative is my forte. And this time I am doing positive. A comedy and positive character so I found something different this time.

Can you tell me something about your character in Meet?

In Meet my character name is Ram who is actor Sooraj Thappar’s younger brother. This character is very comic and positive. If any problems occurs he takes it in very light way. The elder brother doesn’t want to get involve in family matters. He thinks Ram is there, Ram will sort out everything. Ram takes it in very healthy way and sort it out. He balances everything. When (Meet) Shagun Pandey needs something he comes to Ram.

How do you relate your character in your real life?

In real life I am the same. I am a very balanced person.

What is the interesting character you have played so far and which is the character and show you regret in your career?

Every character that I have played till now is different characters so for me all the characters means alot to me. I am so thankful to work that there is nothing to regret. I have always taken a good decision. Till now it never happened that the character which I denied and I have regretted my decision. In that way god is very helpful for me that on right time I have denied projects. I leave everything on God. I have not regretted doing any character. But I try to do it in different way. It should not look like I was doing the same in previous show. I always done different where audience have appreciated me and they have loved me in each and every character.

Speaking of Meet, how is your audience response for your character?

It is fantastic. Instagram is full of followers and they just messages me and they love my character because it is a funny, bubbly character. I don’t know further what they make. But fans are loving it.
