MUMBAI: Colors’ Barrister Babu has gained popularity with its attempt at highlighting societal norms, taboos, and superstitions. They also try to give an effective solution to these issues and educate their viewers on right and wrong.

Thaku Maa aka Sadiya Siddiqui's entry in the show has been one of the most adored and much in buzz entry. Her character not only educated the audience to differentiate between the right and wrong but also made viewers fall for her performance. 

We got in touch with the glorious Thaku Maa and asked her about what made her take up the role of Thaku Maa, "I got a call from the production house, I had not done TV for a while. I have previously worked with Shashi Sumeet Productions; I knew the character would surely be strong if they are offering. I wanted to get out of Bombay and the shoot was in Gujarat so yes I picked it. But I had no clue how vicious would Thaku Maa be." 

"I read the script and I remember my first scene where I was looking for Bondita, the makers wanted me to be more aggressive and I was like how aggressive is she, later I thoroughly enjoyed the character where she was beating the men, the way she fired the gun, using her talwar giving it back to men, it was great fun being so strong and villainous," she added. 

We asked her about what would she add as Thaku Maa to her character, "After the leap I have become a bit passive and I should become more active and confront Trilochan and ‘hila do unke ghar ko’, I think I am lacking a challenge. Even when the Talwaarbaazi's competition happened I suggested the makers that I wanted to do Talwarbaazi with Anirudh instead of Chandrachur." 

"I have learnt Kalaripayattu and I so wanted to perform it with Anirudh for the challenge but yes makers had their vision. I want a challenge from the writers on screen and get back in the same action like before leap," she quipped. 

Indeed Thaku Maa is one of the most adored characters of Barrister Babu.
