MUMBAI: Anupamaa is the most loved show on television right now, with TRPs of nothing less than 3.5 on a weekly basis. Its gripping storyline and mind-blasting twists keep the audience glued to their screens. Fans and viewers have connected to Anupamaa so deeply that they do not miss even a single episode of the show.

The prequel is all set to come on Hotstar, titled Anupamaa- Namaste America, we got in touch with Puja Banerjee, to know about her reason to agree, her character and more: 

What made you agree to the show? 

I don't see a reason to not agree as it is one of the most popular show, and this a OTT version that too a prequel so nobody knows about what happened to Anupamaa, how did she get married and my character would unveil some interesting track to the story. 

How different is the show in OTT in terms of nuances? 

There isn't much difference but yes you would find differences in terms of the character, there are some liberties in terms of storyline and here you wouldn't have to wait for a particular day for the episodes, all the episodes will be streaming together so everyone can watch it. 

Tell us something about your character? 

I am the love interest of Vanraj, his first love even before Anupamaa. So somewhere I shall become the reason for Vanraj and Anupamaa's wedding. 

Currently in Anupamaa, Toshu and Kinjal will be at loggerheads where Kinjal will take away the rights from Toshu to being the father of her child. Toshu will tell her that whatever he is doing is because of his child and Kinjal warns him not to bring her child in between as she wouldn't spare him then. She tells him that this child is only hers and he has no rights to the baby as she doesn’t want his attitude to fall on her child.
