MUMBAI : Zee TV is set to launch a new show titled Mithai. The show stars Debattama Saha and Aashish Bhardhwaj in the lead roles and is produced by Arvind Babbal.

Today happened to be the launch of the show. TellyChakkar got into a conversation with Aashish, who spoke about the show, his character, and more.

What made you say yes to this show?

“I auditioned for this show, and I really wanted to be a part of it because it's different. Mithai will make you want to have a family like that in the show.”

How's your equation with Debattama?

“Our equation is very chilled out because we met for our workshop. We are always joking around. Like whenever she dresses up as Mithai, I just assume that she'll play some prank on someone.”

Have you watched the original Bengali show from which Mithai is adapted?

“If I try to imitate that, then it would be fake, so I try to mould myself into the character and give my whole and soul to it.”

What message would you like to give to your audience?

“I'm very thankful for all the efforts that my fans put in. I always try to give this love back through my performance.”

Mithai is set against the backdrop of Mathura and captures the journey of a bubbly and chirpy sweet-maker, whose name is ‘Mithai’. The show will take viewers into the by-lanes of Jatipura, where only four shops prepare a unique traditional sweet called Aloo Jalebi. It is served as the mahaprasad at the Mukharvind Temple.
