MUMBAI: Shivani Sopuri has been an integral part of Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV for a long time now and she moved out of the drama only recently. In an exclusive conversation, we spoke more about the show and her journey along with her future plans.

What made you say yes to the show?

This was first big show for me and the character was good and it was main character and the cast and team is very good and the sets are good too, they wanted me to do , infact they wanted Taiji who resembled Shobha ji and they had auditioned lot of people and they liked my look so that’s how I was there. 

What went wrong that you quit the show?

Nothing went wrong, when I joined the show I was not very confident and I learned a lot in 7 years and you start understanding your skills and become greedy to do more and in your character. You want to be bright and that was not very easy for me and I was doing another show Meri Dad Ki Dulhan for 1 and half years and when you grow you wanted to do something big and I took a break and I am doing some web series also and I also didn’t have time to shoot for two show at same time.

What’s next in store?

I did Andekhi 2, and my character is very good and I did Jug Jug Jiyo with Dharmas and some web series as well. 

How is your experience with web series?

There is a lot of difference between web series and TV shows, in TV shows there are very less stories that stick and it’s on TRP and how the audience like the show and it’s lot of hard work and everyone is working beyond their limits, where in web series you can work on your character and develop and there is time span .

Do you plan to continue in web series and discontinue TV?

Not at all, I will definitely come back to TV and I wanted a break also since I have been working for 7 years and I feel bad to leave Kum Kum Bhagya because of the timing issues.
