MUMBAI: One of the longest and popular sitcoms of Indian Television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was recently in the news as rumors about Munmun Dutta aka Babita ji quitting the show started doing the rounds in the media.

The actress has been missing from the show since the last few episodes and hence speculations about her leaving the show started floating. However, the makers of the show have confirmed that Munmun is not going anywhere and she is very much a part of the show.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's production house, Neela Film Productions Pvt Ltd owned by Asitt Kumar Modi confirmed the news and said, "Munmun Dutta continues to remain part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as Babita ji. Any rumors about her quitting the show are baseless and incorrect."

Sources close to the show informed us that Munmun was away from the show as no storyline featuring her was introduced and hence she is not shooting for the show these days and missing from TMKOC.

Munmun Dutta has been a part of the show since its inception. She plays the role of a beautiful Bengali lady, who is married to a south Indian Mr Iyer. The actress is loved for her performance on the show and enjoys a massive fan following.

The star cast of the show recently travelled to Vapi to shoot fresh episodes of TMKOC. It was shot in Gujarat while Maharashtra was in lockdown but now that things are back to normalcy, the shoot has begun in Mumbai. Recently, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala aka Mrs Roshan Sodhi resumed the shoot after a three months break. She was away from the show because of health reasons.
