Colors’ upcoming show Mohar, which will depict the tussle between power and bonded labour is presently in the process of finalizing its cast. The show which is scheduled to go on floor in the last week of May has already roped in known actors in Suhasini Mulay, Ginny Virdi, Moni Rai.
Now for the big casting of the little kids who will play the central roles in the show, Harshita Ojha, popularly known as the little Veera in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas – Veera on Star Plus has been locked for the role of the lead kid. Also, child prodigy Darshan Gurjar who was seen in the movie Gunday will play the other central character.
A source states, “Lot of kids, both known and unknown were auditioned for the central roles in Mohar. However, Harshita and Darshan have been locked now. The story will revolve around these kids to begin with.”
Giving you more details on the promising cast, talented actress Prachee Pathak who donned the role of Naulakha devi to the ‘T’ in Sahara One’s Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai has been cast to play the main negative lead in Mohar. Joining her will be Sai Ballal, who was popular for his negative portrayal of the Thakur in Colors’ Phulwa.
A source states, “Sai and Prachee will play a couple, and will be the elder son and daughter-in-law in the rich landlord family who are supposed to be the feudal lords. Suhasini Mulay will play the matriarch in the family.”
Initially, Kiran Karmarkar and Lubna Salim were touted to play the above-said roles. But now, it will be Sai Ballal and Prachee Pathak who will play the main antagonists on the show. Also, Kiran’s wife Rinku Karmarkar happened to be an option, but things did not materialize.
We tried calling Sai Ballal and Prachee, but their phones were out of reach.
We tried reaching out to Harshita’s parents, but could not get through to them. We could not get a confirmation from the channel spokesperson, till the time we filed the story.
Mohar, the upcoming show on Colors will be produced by Guruodev Bhalla and Dhawal Gada.
