Two accomplished TV actors seem to have taken Shakespeare’s phrase ‘All the world's a stage and all the men and women are merely players’ too seriously and put the same to practice to experience a new high of being on a stage.

Yes, we are talking about Hasan Zaidi and Rajesh Khera who are all set to come together for a suspense thriller play, Kknock Kknock to be staged at Rangsharda Auditorium, Bandra on 1 December.

Talking about the play, the good looking Hasan, who was last seen in Vikram Bhatt’s Horror Story says, “It’s an adaptation of an old play ‘Sleuth’ by Anthony Shaffers that is being directed by my Shapath co-star Pankaj B Singh. I and Rajesh Khera will be playing the two central roles between which this thriller revolves.”

“It is basically about this successful writer (Rajesh) whose wife will be having an affair with me (Hasan’s character). As they sit together to discuss the same a lot of interesting things occur. This will lead to some really exciting twists and turns and you will have to watch the play to know exactly what,” he smiles.

Divulging that this was his first attempt on stage, Hasan shares, “It is a superb experience. While on TV, we get our script while we are doing our make-up after which we go ahead and enact our scenes, but for a play it takes months of practice. And since I am more of a reactive and intuitive actor this experience was a completely different school and real fun.”

Talking about his team, Hasan quips, “Rajesh is a fabulous actor and a dear friend. Since we had to act opposite each other, we had to let go off our fondness before we hit the stage. And when Pankaj, who has been in theatre production for quite some time, approached me with the play, I just couldn’t refuse. He was very clear of what he wanted from us and as a team we have really worked hard and hope everyone likes it.”

Rajesh, on the other hand, avers, “My character is a very interesting one where this writer has gone so deep in his thriller novels that he has started living them. He enjoys playing such games in real life too. And after his encounter with his wife’s lover, a lot of exciting events will take place that would lead to a lot of suspense.”

The actor believes that being part of theatre will now reposition him and his career. “With so many actors in the industry, today it’s important to resurface in the league. Also with so much of untapped potential in us, this will bring a sense of creative satisfaction,” he observes.

“We will also get to travel across various cities with our team and to think of it in a macro level, this is going to be a new chapter in our lives,” says a smiling Rajesh, who is best known for his role in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin and Aasman Ke Aage.

Tellychakkar.com wishes both the actors and the play a great success!
