MUMBAI: Viewers of television soap operas simply love watching their favourite TV show(s), owing to the rampant and intense on-screen chemistry of their lead protagonists. Fans can never have enough of the feisty connection of their favourite on-screen characters and feel devastated if either of them suffers a major mishap like (staged) death or the sudden replacement of their favourite character(s).

However, to everybody's content, the Hindi television industry's one such former beloved couple whose on-screen connection and chemistry stayed intact throughout their tenure in the respective show, was undoubtedly of former Star Plus show Ishqbaaz's main lead couple - Shivaay-Anika.

Shivaay's character was played by telly actor Nakuul Mehta while Surbhi Chandna enacted Anika's role on-screen. The duo nailed both their individual roles and definitely their intense on-screen romance with their impeccable performances. The show's fans and audience totally adored them together and Anika's on-screen antics perfectly complemented Shivaay's sophistication and reserve nature, such that they naturally imparted solidarity vibes right from the beginning, despite Shivaay tried backstabbing Anika a lot of times and landed with his failed attempts.

Just like every modern love story, Shivaay-Anika's story had initiated on bitter terms owing to their social and financial differences. However, as opposites attract each other, despite the prevalence of innumerous hurdles in the plotline, they eventually empathised with each other's shortcomings, got in sync with the opposite rhythms and stood strong against all odds to seal the final deal with their union.

Shivaay-Anika's hot and sizzling chemistry was definitely the talk of the town even beyond the industry since owing to the same, the show garnered immense popularity throughout the nation; such that after Nakuul Mehta, now Surbhi Chandna was being hailed as the new household fame.

It so happened that Shivaay-Anika's on-screen romance became stronger than the show's plotline and the parallel lead characters. Since Ishqbaaz tried to showcase the love stories of the three Oberoi brothers of Shivaay, Omkar and Rudra; encompassing all of their individual stories within a single plotline and a slot of 20 minutes toughened.

Hence, Ishqbaaz's makers immediately came up with their spin-off show Dil Bole Oberoi to highlight Omkar's love story with Gauri.
