According to information, the channel has already commissioned for 26 episodes, however the buzz has it that the channel might even give a nod for 26 more. We tried getting a word from the officials at DD but they remained unavailable for comment. Meanwhile, Abhinav Chaturvedi who played the charming ‘Nanhe’ in the show says, “I am not a part of any new version of Hum log, if there is one happening, it’s beyond my knowledge. However, if it’s true, I would personally like to congratulate the makers, who have remembered to do something after 25 long years.”

The show which had almost every family glued to its sets for its weekly dose of the life story of Basesar Ram and his brood had the talented but underused Vinod Nagpal as the man of the family, Sushma Seth as the dadi, Jayshree Arora as the mother, Seema Bhargava as the eldest sister, Divya Seth as the second one and Loveleen Mishra as the youngest Chutki. It also had Rajesh Puri as Lallu. The show is expected to launch in the mid week of August.
