Moon Bannerjee of Sasural Genda Phool fame is now showing off her acting skills as Drashti Dhami’s mother on Zee TV’s Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani (ETRETR). We got in touch with her for a quick chat...here's what she has to say about the show, her 'mommy' role, and more. Read on:

When we asked her if she was sceptical about playing a mother on-screen, she shared, “I think age has no bar. In fact, I had made up my mind about playing a mom onscreen when I became one in real life. With a three-year-old of my own, I can relate to all the emotions in the show.”

Why did you choose to be a part of this show? “ETRETR is one of the best shows of Zee till date and I am fortunate to be a part of it. It will take viewers back to the past. Also, I am playing a mom in reel life through this show,” she added.

How are you as a mother in real life? “I am a liberal mom in real life. I had thought to myself that till my baby turned three, I wouldn’t take up any project as I wanted to spend time with my child.”

Television typecasts actors, are you fine with it? “It’s up to me if I want to play a mother onscreen again or not. That’s why I have been taking long gaps to play the kind or roles I wish to,” she added.

How was it working Drashti and Siddhant? “Drashti is a fine actor and a huge star. Siddhant is apt for the role and both of them look very promising.”
