At the age of 16, Zalak Desai entered the world of entertainment with the show Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai. Now after a sabbatical of almost five years, the girl is back on TV with Muh Boli Shaadi on Sony Entertainment Television.

“I was in my 11^th standard when I did the show and since I wanted to complete my graduation before getting back to work, I took a break. I had already worked with Shashi-Sumeet productions, so they asked me to inform them once I was ready to make a comeback. They were the first ones I called, and they auditioned me for a couple of shows,  finalizing me for this,” smiled the pretty girl.

Talking about her character, Zalak shared, “I play Anmol Ratan Singh who is a bubbly and bright girl full of life, yet she is very mature for her age. Having done a course in nutrition, she is a health freak. Post her studies, she moved to Bareily with her parents where she wants to start up a gym. How she ends up falling in love with a person completely different from her and how life goes on for a twist will be for viewers to see.”

So how is the comeback shaping up? “Oh it is great. I must say I am lucky to have got a team where there is no negativity. It is realy important that co-stars bond like family so that you actually look forward to coming back every day on the sets," she said.

Zalak’s mother Falguni Desai is already a big name on TV, we asked her if that made it easier for her to get roles. “Not really as she can suggest my names across but then I have to perform at auditions to bag the role. Nobody would risk taking an actor on face value alone. But yes, I have been blessed with the acting gene and that does make my work easy,” she said. 

With the show focusing on how opposites attract, we asked the pretty girl if that holds true for her. “Somewhere it does. And when you have two different individuals, you make for a complete package. All said and done, I think every relationship is only dependent on love and understanding, so that is the first priority.”

Finally, we asked Zalak to give us three reasons to watch her show. “Firstly, the title of the show, which is so interesting. Secondly, the freshness of a youth show on GEC will surely attract viewers. And finally, everybody loves romance, so they would be in for a treat with this love story.”
