MUMBAI: Colors is all set to roll out a new show Spy Bahu, starring Sana Sayyad and Sehban Azim in the lead roles. The story of Spy Bahu is lead-centric and will depict the love story of a detective and a terror-suspect. Spy Bahu is bankrolled by Ashvini Yardi under her production house Viniyard Productions.

TellyChakkar got in touch with veteran actress Shubha Khote at the launch of the show. The thespian spoke briefly about her role, transition of television, and more…

Could you tell us about your role in Spy Bahu? “I'm the dadi in the family, I have a son and daughter-in-law along with my grandchildren. My character is supposed to be a bit rude but kind at heart.”

What changes and transitions have you witnessed throughout your journey in television? “I started off when television was black and white. Slowly, colour TV started  so the cameras changed, sets changed, and extraordinary technical progress was done. Being an old timer, black and white days had lovely stories and music. I love the films made by Guru Dutt and Raj Kapoor, so I would love to see them being recreated.”

Is there any show that you like a lot apart from Spy Bahu? “I watch a lot of OTT shows and apart from that I watched Gangubai on the first day, first show. The performance is outstanding and beautifully made.”

What kind of role would you like to play apart from motherly and grandmotherly roles? “I've done all kinds of roles in my journey, but still, I would like to do all those roles again. An actor wants to act, so that's what we do.”

Stay tuned for more news from the entertainment industry.
