‘Wanted a beautiful, fair, slim, smart and convent educated bride; who is an expert at household chores.’ That is exactly how many matrimonial advertisements go. That is what Amit of Sony TV’s Amita Ka Amit (Swastik Productions) was looking for too while searching for a bride. In a very male chauvinistic way he rejected Amita on the basis that she was not as good looking as she came across to be in her photo, was overweight and clumsy. He initially failed to appreciate the fact that she had a beautiful heart. He has now come around and realised that a nice and honest girl like Amita is a rarity and is a good match for him. Talking about this turnaround in Amit’s character, Nishad told Tellychakkar.com, “What I initially did not like about Amit was that he was choosy while selecting his life partner and did not realise that the perfect spouse does not exist. However, he has now made a wise decision in selecting Amita as his soul-mate.” He brings to our notice that Amit was influenced by his mother Falguni in demanding for the perfect life partner. He explained, “He wanted a perfectionist bride who was good looking, an excellent cook and a person who executed everything perfectly. It is because of his mom that he wanted a bride like Katrina Kaif.” However, Nishad in real life is different when compared to his reel character. “I will never ever reject a girl because she is not beautiful or does not have nice hair.” When asked about the similarities between him and his character, Nishad pondered and said, “I am punctual like Amit and also make sure to wear well-ironed shirts like him. However, I am quite different from him too. Amit listens to just classical music whereas I like lighter songs too. Also Amit is very reserved in front of girls which I am not. The major difference between us is that I am a movie buff whereas Amit does not like to watch films.” What Nishad likes the most about Amit is the gravity in his nature. He lamented, “It is a pity that most youngsters nowadays are not like Amit. In fact, I am yet to meet a reserved guy like him”. On whether he has met a girl like Amita, he said, “Of course, in fact many of my college friends are just like her.” On the track post the wedding of Amita and Amit, the actor informed us, “They will get to know more about one another’s qualities and faults.” He is also optimistic that the show will climb up the TRP charts. “This is a family oriented show which is meant to attract both young and old viewers. The story will build up after the marriage.” On his strengths and weaknesses as an actor, Nishad explained, “I can get into the character fast and am very confident in front of the camera. I am continuously trying to improve my acting skills too. The day I stop learning I will stagnate as an actor. I will also not turn down any role, even if I am asked to play a father at a young age.” On the kind of reality shows he would like to participate, the actor said, “I would like to be a part of Bigg Boss as it is my favourite show and it would be great to meet Salman Khan. However I will never participate in Emotional Atyachar and The Big Switch.” Nishad, keep up the good work!!!
