MUMBAI: Rahul Krushna Vaidya is an Indian singer and music composer. He is best known for participating and emerging as the second runner-up in Indian Idol 1. However, it was since his participation in Salman Khan's hosted reality show Bigg Boss 14, which was held last year, that he started to make his way to the industry's headlines, either because of his stints inside the BB 14 house or because of the brewing of his love affair with television actress Disha Parmar at that time, such that he was even seen proposing to his ladylove on public media from inside the house.

As a response to the same, on this year's Valentine's Day, the actress herself, i.e. Disha, made her brief dramatic entry inside the house to attend the show's special episode and give her verdict on the same, by accepting his proposal. He was also noted for maintaining a no-nonsense amicable relationship with his other co-inmates inside the house, despite often being at logger-heads with BB 14's winner - Rubina Dilaik and her husband, Abhinav Shukla. His 'bro-code' bonding with co-inmate and buddy Aly Goni was also pretty prominent throughout the show.

Currently, Rahul Vaidya ranks 16th in Times Of India's 'Top 20 Most Desirable Men on Television' (in both 2020 and 2021).

However, not many know about Rahul's struggling ladder-ride to stardom as a commoner, who made his way into the glamour world as a participant in many reality shows and emerging as their first runners up as well. He did also win one of the show's he had participated in so far. However, Rahul's journey in this field had started-off since his childhood days itself.

1. In 1997, Rahul made his first-ever debut in the industry as a contestant in the singing reality show - Star Yaar Kalakar. The show was hosted by Farida Jalal. Rahul was a child when he first debuted on-screen through this show.

2. He had also participated in the popular singing reality show Close Up Antakshari. The show went on from 1997-98 and was hosted by Annu Kapoor.

3. In 2001, he had also participated in Chalti Ka Naam Antakshari.

4. 2004-05 became Rahul's breakthrough phase in his career's leap as he had participated in Indian Idol 1 and emerged as it's second runner-up. This incident turned his life upside down and initiated his sudden shot to fame in the mainstream singing industry.

5. Rahul debuted as a singing reality show's host for the first time by co-hosting Jjhoom India along with Sucheta Khanna in the year 2007.

6. 2008 was another remarkable year in Rahul's life with two reality shows - Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star and Aajaa Mahi Vay. He emerged as the winner in the former show and had co-hosted the latter, along with Vinit Singh.

7. 2010 also turned out crucial for him as he emerged as the winner of another singing reality show named Amul's Music Ka Maha Muqqabla. Henceforth, Rahul began trying his luck in other various genres by participating in and hosting other types of reality shows, apart from the singing ones.

9. In 2017, after a hiatus, he self-hosted the music show Music Ki Pathshala.

10. Lastly, in 2020-21, Rahul was pitched in by the makers of the famous Salman Khan hosted reality show - Bigg Boss 14. It was through this show that years after Indian Idol 1, Rahul emerged as a household name once again, mostly owing to his indoor stints inside the BB 14 house and his cheesy romance with actress Disha Parmar. He also emerged as the show's 1st Runner Up during it's Finale, being preceded by Rubina Dilaik as the show's winner.

11. Currently, the singer and telly fame is busy shooting in Cape Town (South Africa) for his next reality TV show, the stunt-based adventure series Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11. He has participated as a contestant therein and is having a gala time with his other co-contestants. Ladylove Disha Parmar went to see him off at the airport before he jetted-off to Cape Town.
