Post his last show, Kittu Sab Janti Hain, actor Amit Verma has not been seen on the idiot box these days. Notwithstanding, he has been utilizing his free time to enjoy his new passion for dance, that too Salsa! Amit says, "Off late I have developed a liking for Salsa." He was never into this artistic form until an event provoked him to take up this Spanish dance. "I was supposed to perform a small dance for a particular show and had to learn Salsa in 10 days," states Verma. "After my performance, I thought I can excel in it so I went ahead and enrolled with a Salsa class," says Amit who has been learning this new dance form since a month. Other than learning the ropes of grooving the Spanish style, what else kept his busy? "After Kittu….I did a few cameos and a music video. Right now I'm also concentrating on my build and am on a strict diet. I had piled on extra weight post Kittu…which I'm now shedding off. Heavy dieting and regular exercise have transformed me into a new person. I guess, somewhere down the line even Salsa has also helped me," voices Amit. Any new shows on the cards, to which he replies, "There are few projects in the pipeline. I'm yet to choose one." It seems Amit is in no hurry to get back to television as he reveals, "It's just that I am also trying my luck on the silver screen. I had been meeting people, but here too nothing has been finalised yet. I am waiting for a good opportunity," he states. So does it mean sayonara to the small screen? "I am not Shah Rukh Khan or Irfaan Khan! Only theses people can afford to leave television. I am still am amateur and don't know what future holds for me," signs off Verma. If not TV or films, his fervor for Salsa will at least get him bountiful of shows for time being!
