Star One’s Jaane Pehchaane Se Yeh Ajnabbi is tipped to go off air in the second week of August with Ekta Kapoor’s tentatively titled show Fanaa likely to replace it. An insider from the show says, “The rumours of the show going off air has been doing the rounds for quite some time now but will probably take place next month. The main reason for the show to go off air has been its dipping TRPs. The show hasn’t been able to pick up after it slid. Ekta’s new show is however tipped to replace it. There were talks initially that Ekta’s show might air on weekends but now there are high chances of it replacing Ajnabbi. However there hasn’t been any official intimation on the same.” We spoke to Sanjeeda Sheikh who laughed at the rumour. Says Sheikh, “I haven’t been informed yet. As far as the Balaji show replacing Ajnabbi goes, the show will be airing on Saturday and Sunday. They will most probably get a weekend time slot.” We sent a text to Siddarth Malhotra, producer Cinevistaas, but he did not revert.
