MUMBAI: It was only recently that we reported that Saath Nibhaana Saathiya will soon roll out a rebooted version on Star Bharat. 

According to the news received, the background of the show will remain the same. It will have a Gujarati backdrop however, the narrative will be entirely different. According to our sources, Jyoti Mukherjee will play the central character Gopi’s stepmother while Ashish Bhatt will play the role of the step-father. Maharishi Dave will play the stepbrother of Gopi.

Another name joining the cast is Nitin Vakharia, who is renowned for his work in the TV show Baa Bahu Aur Baby and has been active as an actor for more than two decades. He will play the central character, Saksham’s father. 

Jyoti has earlier been seeing in shows such as Agni Vayu, Prratima and Manzilein Apani Apani, while Ashish is an actor and assistant director known Aashiqui 2, Out of Time and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. 

While it was earlier reported that Saath Nibhaana Saathiya will have a prequel, the show is headed for a reboot on Star Bharat and it is not a prequel. Well, this has definitely raised our excitement level as we can't wait to see what's in store for us. Saath Nibhana Saathiya's first season which aired on Star Plus had a successful run for 7 years.
