Let's take a look at the celebs who were TROLLED for defying Covid-19 protocols

Here are some of our favourite B-Town celebs who were trolled for not wearing masks in the public amid the ongoing pandemic. Read to know deets...

MUMBAI: When the calendar date changed from 2019 to 2020 and the clock struck 12, we all looked forward to a year of travelling, being with friends and family, going to our normal work routine. But, as they say, man proposes and God disposes.

All our 2020 plans were crushed by the coronavirus pandemic.

While we are inching towards an entire year of the virus, if we sit and think, a lot has changed in less than a year. Right from the way we wash our hands to the way we eat to the way we dress, everything has taken an unexpected turn.

Humans have been trying to survive amid a pandemic through the 'new normal'.

One change that 2020 brought is the extensive use of masks. Almost like our second skin, masks have become indispensable. When we step out of our homes, apart from checking if we are carrying our purse and phone, we now have to put a tick mark on masks.

Heading without masks not only may attract a hefty fine but can also bring along a lot of trolling. Spotting a person in a public without a mask and bam...suddenly, he becomes the centre of attraction.

2020 has made sure that masks as important as putting on clothes and especially when you are a celeb, you cannot get away from the prying eyes of netizens.

Social media has become a breeding ground of hate and trolls and like they say, with great power comes great responsibilities. Celebs are worshipped almost as role-models and hence, they are entrusted with the social responsibility of influencing the masses.

Many celebs, as a result, were trolled left-right and centre for not wearing masks amid the pandemic. Wondering who all? Here is a list:

Salman Khan was stationed at his Panvel farmhouse during the lockdown. Throughout he kept us hooked to his Instagram profile.  Salman was clicked in August in his car. The actor can be seen accompanied by his driver and his guard in the car. While both of them were wearing masks, Salman Khan was snapped without one. Netizens soon unleashed their anger in the comment section.

Aamir Khan has always made sure he maintains his perfectionist attitude in everything he does. The Laal Singh Chaddha actor, however, was trolled severely a few days back as he was spotted without a mask on the streets. Aamir stepped out in Mumbai city and was spotted playing cricket with some young kids. His game may have impressed many, but his pictures without masks invited trolls and hatred on social media.

Favourite mother-daughter jodi of Bollywood, Kajol and Nysa Devgan has always given us major goals. The duo was spotted at the Mumbai airport sans masks and fans were not impressed with their behaviour.  One of the users wrote, "Why aren’t they wearing masks? That’s the least you can do.." "Where is the mask at least save yourself and others my dear", wrote another.

Saif Ali Khan has been looking over the construction of his new home before the birth of his second baby with Kareena Kapoor Khan. When Unlock 1.0 was announced, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their son Taimur Ali Khan stepped out together. The trio went to Marine Drive and was clicked by the paps. However, fans were not impressed after spotting them without masks. In an interview, Saif told that it was because the little munchkin was locked inside the house for too long. He also said that they took down the mask only when the promenade was empty. However, when there were people, they made sure they had their masks on.

Lastly, Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat was papped in the evening as she went for a run in the park. The actress wore a pink tank top and track pants but netizens were not impressed with her sans mask look. Netizens posted comments such as “Why are u not wearing a mask? This is really wrong on your part. You are followed by so many people and this gives a very wrong message.”.

Wear a mask, that is the lesson!
