Malini Kapoor who has played a wide range of roles in television is happy to be back on screen with Zee TV’s Rab Se Sona Ishq (produced by Jay Productions). As we know, the show is about a young girl Sahiba (Ekta Kaul) whose husband Ranbir (Ashish Sharma) dumps her on her wedding night to go to England in search of his dreams. Talking about her role in the Zee show and also on the different type of roles she has done, Malini talks at length. “In Rab Se Sona Ishq, I play the lead girl’s bua Beauty who had been duped in the same way. When she sees Sahiba in the same plight, she encourages the girl to fly to London to look for Ranbir. Beauty is always dressed as a bride, and looks happy and chirpy. She cares for her niece a lot. The character has many layers.” Malini who’s forte is to play to the ‘T’ the socially suffering woman, was earlier seen as a crying widow in Colors’ Ganga. “My character in Ganga was confined to one corner of the house. I had thoroughly enjoyed playing Maya as you need to understand that even widows are human beings and have a right to happiness.” She goes on, “In Love You Zindagi, I played a mother. I am a practical girl and even with the best of styling I will not look less than 25 years. So I see to it that I accept any good role that is offered to me.” Great work, Malini..
