MUMBAI: Colors’ show Pinjra Khoobsurti Ka has been entertaining the audience from the day it started.

Well, Riya was not the first choice to play the character of Mayura in the show.
The makers had locked newbie Shivangi Sharma for the show. The team had done workshops along with mock shoots and even shot a few episodes with Shivangi. However, things didn’t materialise and makers had to ease out Shivangi and on a very last-moment, rope in another actress. The makers found their Mayura in Riya Sharma.
Speaking about her last moment casting, Riya said, “I had auditioned for the character sometime in February and was keen on doing a character like Mayura. However, I didn’t hear from the makers and hence I went to my native place because of the lockdown. Later, I received a call and was asked to return to Mumbai as I’d bagged the part. I didn’t go through any workshops or didn’t have the time for prepping up for the show because of which initially it took me sometime to understand and think like Mayura. Having said that, within a week’s time, I got the hang of the character. Here, I would like to mention the producer Saurabh Sir, my Director, co-actor Sahil and the entire cast has been very supportive because of which I coped up as Mayura super soon”.
