MUMBAI: If there is a favourite producer in TV town, it has to be none other than Rajan Shahi. With one of the longest-running shows, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ to his name, the producer is known for his warm attitude towards the cast of his shows. Actor Mrinal Singh, who is doing her third show with Shahi, after ‘Tere Seher Mein’ and web series ‘Love Sex Viagra’, is elated to be part of his show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. “Everything is so special because I have come back in the family again. My character Aashi is very neat, energetic, lively. She’s a standup comedian and she speaks from her heart out, without thinking,” she says.

Of course, she got a great welcome from Shahi as well. “It’s amazing working with him. It’s such a wonderful experience for me to be with him again. Rajan Sir congratulated me for the comeback episode and I almost cried. He gave me my first show ‘Tere Seher Mein’ and that was the show where people started recognizing me. I have got everything because of him and I am happy that he has given me a place in this show,” he says.

She is loving working with the rest of the cast too. “I am loving to work with Kartik and Naira, I did not think that I would gel so well with everyone. Everybody is supportive like a family and Kartik and Naira are supportive as well. Mohsin is very professional and focused when it comes to working and so is everyone else. I wish I get such co-actors every time,” she says.

Ask her if she feels that it’s a stand-up comedian’s job is tough, and she says, “It’s not difficult, though sometimes it’s not easy to make the audiences laugh. The director is pretty cool and they know how to guide me well, which is important.”
