MUMBAI: Mrunal Thakur is the most loved actress in the entertainment industry and has a huge fan base because of her acting prowess. Mrunal Thakur gained notoriety as the parallel lead in the popular show Kumkum Bhagya. Mrunal has decided to leave the show in which she had been a member for about two years. Years later, the diva talked about how she got a part in Kumkum Bhagya and how it connected to Imtiaz Ali's movie Jab We Met.

Mrunal Thakur gained popularity because of her stint in the show Kumkum Bhagya, and the show greatly increased her fan base. The actress told the popular news portal that Kareena Kapoor Khan's character Geet from Jab We Met served as her inspiration and disclosed how she got a part in Ekta Kapoor's program.

Mrunal Thakur revealed, "Geet is a cult. Geet has played such an integral part in shaping who I am because every time I take decision, I think as Geet. That's what Imtiaz sir has done to me. I am so grateful to Imtiaz sir as because of him I think I'm in this industry."

She elaborated, "If I wouldn't have watched Geet if I wouldn't have watched Jab We Met, I must have not considered this as my career. It's just so overwhelming. It's magical."

Mrunal Thakur revealed her decision to leave the Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia show Kumkum Bhagya in the same interview. She also shared about her experience working in film, relationships, things she had learned, and others. Mrunal Thakur will next seen in Pooja Meri Jaan.

Kumkum Bhagya is one of the daily soap operas that has been on Indian television screens for the longest time. The show made its premiere in 2014 and has been entertaining audiences for over a decade. Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia were the main lead actors on the show initially. Mugdha Chaphekar and Krishna Kaul took over as the main actors after the jump. Currently, the main characters in Kumkum Bhagya are Abrar Qazi and Rachi Sharma.
