MUMBAI: Sudhanshu Pandey is an Indian film and (Hindi) television actor, singer and former fashion model. Sudhanshu has featured in a galore of Hindi TV shows and Bollywood movies
and has the reputation of being one of the most experienced on-screen actors in the industry, owing to his fine acting chops.

Currently, he features in Star Plus' most beloved show Anupamaa, wherein he's playing the on-screen role of Vanraj Shah, who's the titular character Anupamaa's former husband, Kavya's present husband, Baa-Bapuji's son and Paritosh-Samar-Pakhi's father.

In the show, Rupali Ganguly plays the titular role of Anupamaa, Paras Kalnawat plays Samar Shah (Anupamaa-Vanraj's younger son), Aashish Mehrotra plays Paritosh Shah (Anupamaa-Vanraj's elder son), Muskaan Bamne plays Pakhi Shah (Anupamaa-Vanraj's youngest daughter, Toshu-Samar's youngest sister), Alpana Buch plays Baa, Madalsa Sharma plays Kavya Shah (Vanraj's present wife), Nidhi Shah plays Kinjal Paritosh Shah (Paritosh's wife and Anupamaa-Vanraj's daughter-in-law) and Anagha Bhosale plays Nandini (Samar's girlfriend).

On-screen, Vanraj, who is played by Sudhanshu, used to be the epitome of a chauvinist Indian man who used to dominate over and manipulate his homemaker wife Anupamaa, only to assert his dominance on the Shah family. He further indulged in an illicit affair with his colleague Kavya behind Anupamaa's back and was held responsible for the latter's traumatic experience and mental breakdown on learning the truth.

Currently, Vanraj and Anupamaa are finally divorced and Anupamaa is no more feared by his intimidations. Infact, Anupamaa is self-empowered as she runs her own dance school while post marrying Kavya, Vanraj loses his job and is now running a small cafe business.

1. Sudhanshu hails from Uttrakhand and belongs to a Brahman family. However, he later shifted to Lucknow and was brought up there.

2. For the unversed, before embarking upon his showbiz career, Sudhanshu aspired to be an army officer.

3. Eventually his interests found it's way in the glamour world and his parents were full-on supportive of his new journey. Hence, he started his showbiz career in modelling at the age of 19.

4. Sudhanshu's growing fame led him into being promoted as the highest earner of his family.

5. Gradually, he started featuring in music videos as well like 'Maikhane', which was sung by Pankaj Udhas.

6. In 2000, he finally got his Bollywood break but was supposed to make his debut with the movie Khajuraho 950 AD, co-starring Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav. Unfortunately, the movie got shelved.

7. However, Sudhanshu did make his Bollywood debut that same year itself by featuring in Khiladi 420 as inspector Rahul and co-starred Akshay Kumar and Mahima Chaudhry.

8. Next year, he made his television debut with the 2001 show Dishayen, wherein he played the role of Samir. The show aired on DD National.

8. Sudhanshu had also featured in the cooking show Cook It Up With Tarla Dalal with famous Indian chef Tarla Dalal.

Interestingly, around this time, he was part of India's first boy band - 'A Band of the Boys', which comprised of 5 members (including him) like Karan Oberoi, Chin2 Bhosle, Siddharth Haldipur and Sherrin Varghese. The band made popular Hindi songs like 'Gori', 'Meri Neend', etc. However, he left the band to focus on his acting career.

16. The actor's hobbies revolve around playing badminton, singing and writing. He's often seen murmuring the songs of his times.
