MUMBAI: Indian television shows are full of drama and entertainment. The makers leave no stone unturned to make the show more and more entertaining by adding new twists and turns to the story. 

The one common twist which majorly works for any show and gives an instant rise to the TRPs is by introducing a double role of any actor. A lot of shows have been trying out this and they have always been successful. 

So, here's a list of TV stars who have played a double role in their shows.

Shaalien Malhotra in Ziddi Dil Maane Na 

The actor is currently seen in Sony SAB's Ziddi Dil Maane Na where he is portraying Karan Shergill as well as Balli's character who is Karan's lookalike. 

Vivian D'Sena in Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon

Vivian played three characters in this show. First, he played the superstar RK. Then he portrayed his lookalike KRK, who was a simple, village boy. Later, he also played KRK’s son.

Mohammad Iqbal Khan in Tumhari Paakhi 

He played the character of Anshuman in the show. However, later he re-enters as a goon who pretends to be his lost brother, Aryaman.  

Mohammad Nazim in Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2

The actor who used to play the role of Ahem, before his death has returned as Jaggi who is Ahem's lookalike.

Ravi Dubey in Jamai Raja 

Ravi first portrayed the role of Sidharth in the show. Later, he portrayed the role of Sidharth and Roshni’s son, Satya.

Sanaya Irani in Rangrasiya

Paro and Rudra's chemistry was pretty intense but the writers decided to bring on a huge change, where they killed Sanaya's character. However, she later returned as a city girl who needed a bodyguard. So, Sanaya played both Paro and Myra's roles in the show.  

Rashami Desai in Pari Hoon Main

Rashami played a double role in this popular show. The actress played the dual role of Pari and Nikki who were shown as the lookalike in the serial.

Tinaa Dutta in Uttaran

The actress first played herself and later her daughter. Tinaa played her old character, Iccha, and then her daughter, Meethi.

Ankita Lokhande in Pavitra Rishta

Ankita was first seen as Archana and later in a leap planned by the makers, Ankita returned as her own granddaughter, she portrayed Archana and Archana’s granddaughter.

Mouni Roy in Naagin

Mouni played the role of Shivanya and then in the second season, she has returned as herself and her daughter Shivangi, who is unaware of her reality.

Apart from these divas, actress Shraddha Arya was also seen in a double role in her show Dream Girl, Sukirti Kandpal played the dual role in Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani, Preetika Roa in Beintehaan, and Rait Pandey in Hitler Didi.
