MUMBAI: Singer and judge Neha Kakkar excused herself from Indian Idol when the show relocated to Daman. Then, Neha shot for 1-2 episodes in Daman, but her sister Sonu Kakkar stepped in to judge the show later.

The reality show is nearing its finale, and sources confirm that Neha will not feature even in the finale episode.

A source said, "Neha has been judging Indian Idol for the past seasons and wanted to take a break. She has worked hard for many years and achieved a lot. She now wanted to spend some quality time with her husband Rohanpreet. That is one of the reasons why she did not continue judging Indian Idol after the team returned to Mumbai. Her sister Sonu has taken over and she will continue on the show till the end."

While there is no confirmation from the makers or Neha, her social media suggests that she is travelling with husband Rohanpreet. Neha and Rohanpreet got married in October 2020.

The show is judged by Himesh Reshammiya, Sonu Kakkar, and Anu Malik. Aditya Narayan is the host. Bollywood actors like Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Reena Roy, Neetu Singh, and singers Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Anuradha Paudwal, and Asha Bhosale have appeared as special guests.
