Neelu Kohli, who is currently playing Bittu’s mother in Sahara One’s Piya Ka Ghar Pyaara Lage is starring as a mother who wants to get her daughter married in the upcoming romantic comedy film in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein which is being directed by Punit Malhotra and being produced by Karan Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar. Her co-stars in the film are Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan. She plays Kareena’s mother and Imran’s mother-in-law in the film. We called up Neelu who confirmed that she was doing the film. As she is also the mother to a grown up daughter, she could slip into the role with ease. She elaborated, “In fact my daughter is a lot like Kareena. Indeed many of the scenes came out spontaneously as in real life I react exactly in the same way with my own daughter.” Regarding her co-stars she says, “Kareena is a very energetic and cooperative co-star. In my movie Tere Liye, I had played Imran’s mother and now I am playing his mother-in-law. Puneet is down-to-earth and a great director.” For those who are missing Neelu as Mohan’s mom in the second season of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, may watch out for Gori Tere Pyaar Mein which is slated to release in November this year (2013). After all she is once again playing a mother in the movie.
