MUMBAI: The announcement of Pavitra Rishta 2 delighted the viewers and the show is already wooing them with their pair and distinctive plotline. Shaheer who is going to essay the role of Manav, had previously been performed by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Shaheer's on-screen portrayal of Manav has disappointed SSR fans. Following the late actor's departure from the show to pursue a career in Bollywood, Bollywood actor Hiten Tejwani briefly replaced Manav. 

Shaheer, who portrays Manav on the show, has now spoken out about the reactions of the audience. He spoke to Outlook India about it. He said , “ Honestly, I have replaced Hiten Tejwani, because it was he who was doing the show before I was. For the last two and half years of the show, I think he was playing the character of Manav. So, I have technically replaced him.”

He also mentioned that  for the fans he feels they don't have to replace Sushant Singh Rajput with me.”

Shaheer goes on to say that he has a good character as an actor, and that if he hadn't given it a nod, it would have gone to someone else. He described it as "something fresh, something unique," and "something they did with an honest approach." They've given everything they've got.

He said, “ It was an honest effort from my side. When I see that onscreen I can feel that a little. I don't know what people think of it. From my end, it was an honest approach. It was 'work' for me, and I would never say no to work. I felt it was a good character and I wanted to do justice to it, and so, I gave it my all,” says the actor.

While preparing for the role, Shaheer stated that Manav is one of the most honest and sincere characters he has ever portrayed. He claims that it motivates individuals to be decent people and makes them believe that good people still exist in today's world.
