MUMBAI: Rajan Shahi, a well-known producer in the Indian television industry, recently opened up about his journey, the challenges he faced, and his experiences working with some of the most popular names in the field. During this conversation, he also expressed his deep admiration for Ektaa Kapoor, a celebrated producer and a leading figure in the television world.
Rajan Shahi, who heads Directors Kut Productions, has made a significant mark in the industry with his successful shows. In a recent interaction with Sidharth Kannan, he reminisced about his early days at Star Plus when Ektaa Kapoor was already an established name with the channel. He recalled meeting her at a party and shared his appreciation for her contributions to the industry.
Speaking about her, Rajan Shahi said, “Ektaa ji, I am her biggest fan. She is a lady I admire the most in this industry. She is my idol. She is very sweet.” His words reflect the immense respect he holds for her, who has been a trailblazer in Indian television.
Rajan Shahi’s production house has delivered several hit shows, including Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Anupamaa, Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai, and Amrit Manthan, among others. His current shows, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Anupamaa, continue to enjoy massive popularity, with Anupamaa starring Rupali Ganguly, with whom Rajan Shahi shares a great working relationship.
Beyond television, Shahi has also ventured into filmmaking, directing movies like Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi. His wide-ranging expertise and creative vision have established him as one of the most respected and successful producers in the industry today.
