MUMBAI: Kumkum Bhagya is one of the most adored and popular shows on television. The current track of the show has kept us on the edge of our seats with its riveting twists and turns.

Previously, Naina Singh essayed the role of Rhea Mehra in the show; she left it for Bigg Boss 14 last year. This had a major effect on their viewership as it took a while to find the perfect match. A reliable source mentioned that earlier the production was in search of a completely new face for the character. But keeping the viewership position into consideration, the search was halted as it would have created a major shift in the show. 

Later, Pooja Banerjee was approached for the role while she was shooting as Nivedita Basu in Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2. As both the shows come under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, shooting in shifts would have been easier for the actress. 

She accepted the offer and continued being Rhea Mehra with absolute finesse. There has been no looking back since then as she fits like the perfect button in the character. One cannot imagine anybody else as Rhea post her entry in the show. 

After ending her stint with Kasautii, Pooja has completely devoted herself to her character Rhea Mehra, whereas Naina has earned an abundance of popularity with Bigg Boss 14. Though her stay in the house was short but seems to be fruitful for the diva.
