Rishina Kandhari aims at playing ‘main lead’ now

Rishina Kandhari, who was recently seen as Malvika in Colors’ Uttaran, feels that the show was a fantastic experience as an actor, with a lot to learn. She said, “Experience of doing Uttaran was really superb. The whole unit was awesome to work with. Be it producers, production people or co-stars all were supportive. I played Malvika for eight months, and I will miss going on the set. I will miss spending time with everyone.” On being asked who she thinks was the best co-star on Uttaran, she stated, “Krutika Desai was not only a fabulous actress, but also the sweetest person on the set. I used to observe her acting as she is very correct in approach and there is so much to learn from her.” On the kind of roles she wants to play now, Rishina averred, “I want to play the main lead now. I want to do shows like Everest and 24 which are totally content driven. I want to play a character which is very challenging and performance oriented.” Rishina has also got an interest in participating in reality shows. “I would love to be part of Nach Baliye and even Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Reality shows establish you as an individual more than soaps, as in soaps you are playing a character with which audience connects.” Now that she is on a break, Rishina has chalked out her own plan to keep herself busy. “I will focus on my fitness, will hit the gym regularly and groom myself. I am also planning to go for a baking class and that is a better idea than watching TV, talking on phone or surfing the net. I also intend to go for auditions and meet people for more opportunities.” As a parting note, Rishina stated, “An actor has to re-invent himself/herself and constantly keep updated. I have no immediate holiday plans. Holidays can wait work as career comes first. Once an actor, always an actor!”. Well-said, Rishina! Wish you luck for the future.
