MUMBAI: Come December, and Rishina Kandhari is one excited girl! The actor, who recently shot for Content for Keeda’s short film called A Letter To Santa, says that she loves celebrating Christmas and New Year. “Christmas brings joy, happiness and life and it is the best time to celebrate with family. It is so lively and is celebrated all over the world. I love Christmas. December is my favourite month. It is so festive. The best thing is that you get to spend time with the family, and of course you get gifts! I get a lot of good gifts, like not only Diwali-type gifts like sweets and stuff, but really good things,” she laughs!

Ask her what she wants from Santa this year, and she says, “From Santa Clause, I want a small puppy. I want to adopt one for a while now, but I am not able to connect with the one I want to bring home!”

For Rishina, 2020 has been a very fulfilling year. “Technically speaking, my 2020 was not bad. I was not at home. I was working with Punyakarma Foundation throughout the lockdown. We fed 2 lakh people and helped the underprivileged. We really helped a lot of people survive and God will bless us for that. I did a lot of home shooting as well, during the lockdown. I shot for a short film which will come on Hotstar. It was a home film and my mom is also there. I learnt new skills, how to play the guitar, spent time with family and got to know them even more,” she says.

Life After the lockdown was also good, says Rishina. “After the lockdown, my show Aye Mere Humsafar started. 2020 was touchwood, not bad for me at all. I was not well in between. I fell sick and got myself tested. I tested negative and continued to work with general medication,” she says.

What about next year? “Well, my expectation from 2021 is that everyone should be healthy and there shouldn’t be any pandemics coming from anywhere. People should become sensible and aware of their surroundings. I should get more work which is different from daily soaps. I want to get projects on the web. Next year, in January, my web series is also going to come, which will air on MX player and also has Randeep (Hooda). I am looking forward to 2021, let’s hope for the best and that it adds to my career!” she says.

As far as New Year resolutions go, Rishina has a different take on them. “My New Year resolution is to complete last year’s resolution, which I took last to last year and swore I will complete last year and, now, I will try to do it next year! I know that’s complicated, but that’s the way it is!” she laughs!
