Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the ace film Producer and Director, spread his wings from movies to TV to depict an innocent and sweet love tale in Saraswatichandra (Star Plus). Treading on the same path is Ashutosh Gowariker, who is all set to present a unique story of a girl fulfilling her father’s wishes by climbing the Mount Everest. We are talking about Star Plus' upcoming magnum opus Everest.

And now, we have yet another big banner from movies debuting on the small screen!!

We are talking about Rohan Sippy, the son of Ramesh Sippy(who directed the masterpiece called Sholay).

News coming in is that Rohan is presently working on a espionage series for Life OK. The show, as per sources, draws inspiration from popular and poignant stories of Sherlock Holmes and Byomkesh Bakshi.

Adds the same informer: “The already long line-up of shows on Life OK will now have yet another addition. Rohan Sippy’s finite detective series is supposed to be the channel’s surprise package, in terms of doling out different programming. Channel head Ajit Thakur and the entire team in Life OK is said to be pumping creative energy into the project, given its uniqueness in storytelling.”

The show we hear, is in the casting process right now. Our source further tells us that popular model turned actor Milind Soman (who rose to fame after featuring in Alisha Chinai’s Made in India musical video) is being considered to play the main lead, that of the detective.

Getting back to Rohan's body of work, he has produced and directed four films – Kuch Na Kaho, Bluffmaster, Dum Maaro Dum and Nautanki Saala.

This interesting television series from Rohan's stable will have 26 episodes, and is touted to be one of the biggies to air on the channel.

We sent a text message to Milind Soman, and he replied to us in text saying, “Yes, they have called. Have not been able to meet so far.”

Our efforts to get a comment from Ajit Thakur proved futile.

Let’s see if Rohan's work on TV proves to be a game-changer or not.
