MUMBAI: After the viral 'Rasode Mein Kaun Tha' video featuring Kokilaben and Gopi Bahu, the makers of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya announced that the second instalment of the same is on cards. Producer Rashami Sharma gave out a confirmation and stated that the preparations have already started for Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2. Soon came the news that Devoleena Bhattacharjee may reprise the role of Gopi Bahu. But who'll be the lead hero? Well, the latest reports suggest that Sidharth Shukla is in the lead to bag the lead role.

A source informed Pinkvilla, "Sidharth is the first choice to play the male lead on Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2. The makers are currently in the process of enabling a discussion with him. The discussion is currently on a very primary level but if things work out, his fans would be in for a surprise."  

On the other side, there is sad news. Rupal Patel who essayed the role of Kokilaben won't be reprising her role. In her latest interview with Latestly, she had said that she hasn't been approached by the makers and that she is busy with her another show. She said, "Actually I have heard about it, but I’m not sure about the same. Right now I’m happy playing the role of Meenakshi Rajvansh on Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke on Star Plus. But my love and blessings are with Rashmi mam."
