MUMBAI: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Mohsin Khan would know that he is a big fan of the legendary actor Dilip Kumar. He always wanted to meet him but never got the opportunity or chance to do so. With the death of Dilip Kumar today, Mohsin's dream has remained unfulfilled. It feels incomplete to him.

A few months ago, Mohsin posted a picture on his Instagram where he was seen attempting to recreate Dilip Kumar’s look. He writes, ‘Someday I’ll meet my idol!’

In an interview in the past when Mohsin was asked about his inspiration, he shared that he looks up to Dilip Kumar and also Raj Kapoor. He also said he used to take acting lessons by watching Dilip Kumar’s work and acting skills, especially his drunk scenes from the classic movie Devdas. Today, after hearing about the legend passing away, Mohsin posted a picture of him on his Instagram handle with an emoticon of a broken heart.

Mohsin said, “Dilip sahab’s entire life has been an inspiration. There’s so much to learn from his life, his interviews, his speeches, his book ‘Dilip Kumar: The Substance and the Shadow’ — all his work is so inspiring. May the doors of heaven welcome him. He has always been in my prayers and may lord give strength to Dilip sahab’s family. I wish I had got a chance to meet him, but all the work that he has done and his book will always keep him alive in our hearts.”

Dilip Kumar passed away this morning. The 98-year-old actor was hospitalised twice over the past few days due to breathlessness. The whole film fraternity is mourning the death of the legend. Tributes have been pouring in on social media. A tweet related to the scenario read “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip saab a few minutes ago. We are from God and to him we return (sic).”
